Matthew Kim

Dr. Matthew D. Kim is the George F. Bennett Professor of Preaching and Practical Theology at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Before joining the Gordon-Conwell faculty in 2012, he served as senior pastor of Logos Central Chapel in Denver, Colorado.

He is the author or editor of numerous books, including Preaching with Cultural Intelligence (2018 Preaching magazine Book of the Year), The Big Idea Companion for Preaching and Teaching and Preaching to People in Pain. He is a past president of the Evangelical Homiletics Society and serves on the editorial board of The Journal of the Evangelical Homiletics Society. He is a co-author, with Daniel L. Wong, of Finding Our Voice: A Vision for Asian North American Preaching, and a contributor to Ministers of Reconciliation: Preaching on Race and the Gospel, edited by Dan Darling. Dr. Kim contributes regularly to Preaching Magazine, Influence Magazine, and PreachingToday.com. He facilitates the Preacher’s Book Club through the Center for Preaching. He has been invited to give lectureships on preaching at Urbana Seminary, Moody Bible Institute, Tyndale University, and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He speaks regularly at churches, conferences, and retreats.

Dr. Kim and his wife, Sarah, have three children.
